Phyno has been an incredible voice for Igbo rappers for a while now, bringing the language to the forefront of Nigerian rap with incredible hits like “Pino Pino” and “Okpeke”, as well as multiple collaborations with other Igbo rappers.

For his latest guest spot, Phyno reunites with frequent collaborator, Zoro on rising star, Tidinz‘s massive tune, “AkpaAza”.

The beat for “AkpaAza” is strong and arresting, as producer Benjamz whips out his finest hip-hop borrowings. On the track, the three stars fire out commendable bars with impressive flows, using their mother-tongue to solidify the beat.

Although Tidinz and Zoro are not as popular as Phyno, they give the star a run for his money. They deliver strong, fast-paced bars, especially at the song’s end, never giving the song’s strongest player a chance to completely steal the show

We rarely get to hear Igbo rappers that aren’t Phyno in the mainstream, so we do hope this collaboration elevates Tidinz and Zoro, not only because of their deserving talent but also for some much-needed diversity in our music industry.
