A Moses Simon wonder strike earned Nantes a hard-fought 1-0 win against visiting Tennes in the Ligue 1 on Sunday.
It was a first league win for Nantes since August when they overcame Montpellier 3-1.
Going into Sunday’s game with Rennes, Nantes were on a run of 10 consecutive games without a win (six defeats, four draws).
With two minutes left, Simon received the ball on the left wing, dribbled past two markers inside the box, cut to his right and unleashed a superb curler into the far top corner.
It was Simon’s third goal in 13 appearances in the French top-flight this season.
Rennes thought they had equalised in the 95th minute but the goal was chalked off after consultation with VAR.
Rennes player Mikayil Faye was shown a straight red card four minutes into first half stoppage time.
They also saw their head coach Jorge Sampaoli sent off in the 97th minute.
