James Rodriguez Set To Terminate Contract With Sao Paolo, Eyes Return To Europe

James Rodriguez is set to be available as a free agent after terminating his contract by mutual agreement with Brazilian giants São Paulo.

This was revealed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on his X handle.

According to Romano, Rodriguez is set to part ways with São Paulo after excellent Copa América.

He added that Rodriguez would love to return to European football.

The attacking midfielder led had a memorable 2024 Copa America campaign as he led Colombia to the final, their first since 2001.

Unfortunately, they lost 1-0 to holders Argentina following a Lautaro Martinez extra-time goal.

Despite failing to lead his country to the title, Rodriguez was named Player of the Tournament after scoring one goal and providing six assists, which is a record.

Following his impressive performance at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, Rodriguez joined Real Madrid and also featured for Bayern Munich.
