Russian-born Nigerian forward German Onugha scored two goals for Vejle Boldklub, who lost 3-2 to visiting Randers in their first game of the season in the Danish Superliga on Sunday.
Onugha gave Vejle Boldklub the lead in the 37th minute but Randers scored on 52 and 59 minutes to go 2-1 up.
With three minutes left, Onugha netted his second goal to make it 2-2 before a 92nd minute goal from Randers saw Vejle suffer opening day defeat.
Born in Moscow to a Nigerian father and a Russian mother, Onugha made his debut in the Russian Professional Football League for FC Zenit Penza on 1 September 2017 in a game against FC Ryazan.
On 1 February 2021, he joined Vejle on loan until 30 June 2021, with an option to purchase.
Then, on 4 July 2021, Krasnodar announced that Vejle purchased Onugkha’s rights.
