A large number of bandits attacked the Mareri area in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State, on Saturday night, kidnapping nine women from the same house.

According to eyewitnesses, the terrorists stormed the area around midnight with sophisticated weapons and fired sporadically before abducting the women.

It was learned that the kidnapped victims were from Anka in the Anka local government area of the state.
Sources revealed the identities of the kidnapped victims as Sanaratu Marafa, Halimatu Marafa, Rukayya Marafa, Sakina Yusuf Anka, Amina Yusuf Anka, Habsat Yusuf Anka, Fatima Sani Anka, Suwaiba Mareri, Aslam Jariri, and one of their neighbors.

The Mareri area in Zamfara has endured security challenges for years, leading many residents to flee for safety.

Residents expressed worry over the frequent bandit attacks and called on security agencies and the state government to protect their lives and properties.
