In yet another instance of jungle justice, enraged youths have set a man on fire, accusing him of stealing a motorcycle in Adamawa State, as reported by SaharaReporters.
The incident happened on Thursday at Ngurore market in the Yola-South Local Government Area of the state.
The mob reportedly poured Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) also called petrol and set fire to the victim, after he was alleged to have stolen a motorcycle.
An eyewitness told SaharaReporters that “I guess the angry mob resorted to jungle justice as deterrent measure because of the frequent theft of vehicles in this area.”
“It was horrible to watch a fellow human being burn to death,” the eyewitness narrated.
The spokesperson for the police in the state, Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the incident saying, “Yes, a man suspected to have stolen a motorcycle was burnt to death at Ngurore. But we don’t know his identity as of now.”
