Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has been honoured by the City of Houston in the United States of America (USA).

The Mayor of Houston, Sylvester Turner, announced this declaration in a statement released in Houston, Texas, on Friday, July 7, 2023.
The proclamation stated, “I, Sylvester Turner, Mayor of the city of Houston, do hereby proclaim July 7, 2023, as Davido Day.”
The Mayor’s proclamation came as a result of Davido’s highly successful sold-out show at the prestigious Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
During the show, a member of Houston City Council Edward Pollard attended the concert and announced July 7 as Davido Day in the City of Houston.
