Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan says that the midfield could be a key factor in the UEFA Champions League final between Manchester City and Inter Milan on Saturday, June 10 at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.
City have renowned midfielders such as Kevin De Bruyne, IIkay Gundogan and John Stones while the Nerazurri have very experienced midfield marshalls like Mkhitaryan, Nicolo Barrela and Hakan Calhanoglu.
In a chat with Tuttomercatoweb as quoted by Football Italia, Mkhitaryan lauded City’s overall squad.
“I feel good and I will do everything I can to play this game,” Mkhitaryan said
“I want to win because it’s the Champions League and that doesn’t come along everyday. Manchester City have the strongest overall squad in Europe and a strong midfield, but ours is very strong too. We can show that we are good with the ball at our feet and we can attack too.”
Mkhitaryan has found the net twice in 12 Champions League games this term.
This is Inter’s first Champions League final since claiming the trophy in 2009/10 season and Manchester City’s second final in two years since losing 1-0 to Chelsea in the 2020/21 final.
