In the early hours of Saturday, suspected Boko Haram militants in ten gun trucks stormed Katarko village in Yobe State’s Gujba Local Government Area.
The assailants drove into the community in a convoy of gun trucks at 8 a.m., according to a source who spoke to DAILY POST from a safe location.
According to him, the attackers were engaged by military stationed in the community.
“We had no choice but to flee for our lives,” he explained.
It was also reported that Sector 2 forces were being reinforced, with the air component of Operation Hadin Kai providing support.
As at the time of reporting this story, the details of the attack were still hazy.
Boko Haram had previously attacked Katarko village, which is around 20 kilometers from Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.
