The lower chamber of Nigeria‘s bicameral National Assembly, the House of Representatives has passed the revised 2022-2024 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper.
The passage, which came about 24 hours after the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), presented the executive bill for amendment, followed the laying, consideration and adoption of the report by the House Committee on Finance at the plenary on Wednesday.
The Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, had read Buhari’s cover letter to lawmakers on Tuesday after which some members demanded that the bill be subjected to debate and other legislative processes.
Gbajabiamila had, however, faulted the lawmakers on technical grounds.
