Close to 48 hours after the PDP slid into what some members described as a political meltdown, the party’s governors forum, all divided, will be meeting in Abuja August 26.

A statement the forum chairman released did not list their talking points, but it is not impossible the suspension of the party’s national chairman Uche Secondus, the scramble by the national deputies, among other issues, will top the list of ‘recent development’ in the statement.

Forum chairman and Sokoto governors, Aminu Tambuwal, said in the statement he called the meeting based on consultation with his colleagues.

One of his colleagues and close ally, Nyesom Wike, spearheaded the suspension of Secondus, despite the conciliatory meeting the governors, party elders, and others held to allow the chairman hang in there till, October.

Wike’s presence there will catalyse a lot of thing tomorrow. After all, in his feeble response, Secondus said the party is greater than any single individual or group.

Watchers of the PDP party politics know Wike looms larger than life in the party. He has threatened the party many times, calling the national executives and elders tax collectors.

The part is now in pieces, with two factional leaders jostling for Secondus’ seat.

The forum enjoined all PDP members and stakeholders to exercise patience as efforts were on to ensure the stability of the party in the days ahead.
