British-Nigerian actor and producer, John Boyega has lend his voice to the ongoing nationwide protests by Nigerian youths seeking for the scrapping of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS).
KanyiDaily had reported that there is an ongoing three days #EndSARS protest across the country against the SARS tactical unit of the Nigerian Police Force over brutality, illegal arrest, extortion, extra-judicial killings, among others.
Reacting to the protest which has spread across different social media platforms, John Boyega said Nigerian youths deserve better leadership and guidance.
“The youths in Nigeria deserve good leadership and guidance. This situation is tied to many other issues. Please lend your attention to these pressing problems.
“We can’t simply enjoy Banana island every December without noticing the concrete wall placed between Nigerians and their potential. The limitations become unbearable for them and this needs serious attention.
“Three years ago Nigeria’s police chief re-organised SARS after public condemnation about the violence that came with their operations. That change has done nothing for Nigerians and today many are still in danger”, the actor tweeted.

KanyiDaily recalls that the Police PRO, Frank Mba had said some of the #EndSARS protesters are beneficiaries of criminal activities, looking for online validation.
He also said that given the investment the Federal Government has put into training the officers and setting up the department, ending SARS is not even an option.
