Nigerian youth international, Akinkunmi Amoo has hailed the team spirit of Hammarby after the club secured a hard-fought 2-1 win over IFK Norrkoping in Thursday’s Swedish league tie.
Amoo was reportedly in line to make his competitive debut for Hammarby in the Swedish league outing against Norrkoping on Thursday but he stayed on the substitutes’ bench all through.
His club, however, went on to beat the visitors 2-1 after coming from a goal down. Amoo tweeted via @OfficialAmoo: “Important win. +3 points. Difficult game but team spirit was solid.”
Amoo who completed a move to Hammarby on June 8 arrived in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden on Sunday and the youngster
resumed training with the rest of his team-mates.
The midfielder who clocked 18-years-old also in June will continue his progression with the Stockholm based outfit which is partly owned by the legendary Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Amoo was part of Manu Garba’s U-17 squad for the 2019 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria exited in the Round of 16 after a 3-1 defeat to the Netherlands.
