Former West Bromwich Albion journalist Matt Wilson says Nigeria defender Semi Ajayi is ready to play in the Premier League.
Ajayi joined West Brom for £1.49m last summer from Rotherham who were relegated from the Skybet Championship and was instrumental to the Baggies returning to the top division after a two-year absence.
Ajayi played more Championship minutes than any other outfield Baggies’ player during the 2019/20 league campaign and he ended the season as West Brom’s joint-fifth-highest-rated player in England’s second tier, according to WhoScored.
The centre-back also ended the 2019/20 Championship season as West Brom’s sixth-highest league goalscorer.

Wilson was full of praise for the £3.6m-rated defender during his appearance on this recent edition of the Baggies Broadcast podcast, saying:
“I said Semi Ajayi’s probably going to be one of the buys of the season and in my mind, it’s turned out to be.
“I think he’s been such an unsung hero this season. [Jake] Livermore’s probably been player of the season, but Semi Ajayi’s been fantastic and I fully believe he’s ready for the Prem.”
