Ojonugwa Ojomeje, the leader of a three man armed robbery gang, has revealed that he used his in-law’s police uniform for robbery in Ikorodu, Lagos.
It was also disclosed that Michael’s in-law whose police vest and fez cap were used for the operation was outside the state at the time of the incident.
Ojomeje, 29, was arrested alongside his accomplice Emmanuel Michael (24) and Moses Ogeh (27) by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad.
Ojomeje and Ogeh were caught in MOPOL vest, police vest and fez cap while trying to escape after collecting an ‘Okada’ from a rider.
The victim, on releasing the ‘okada’ to the robbers, walked few steps away before crying out for help.
This drew the attention of the operatives of Rapid Response Squad in the area. They were chased and arrested few meters from the scene.
