Nigerian comedian AY Makun has come under attacks on social media for congratulating Mercy Eke for winning the 2019 Big Brother Naija show after calling for her disqualification weeks before.
The reality show came to an end on Sunday, October 6, 2019, but not without the usual drama that comes after every season.
Mercy was crowned the winner of the Pepper Dem Gana edition after polling 41% of votes from viewers, and many fans including celebrities trooped to her Instagram page to congratulate her.
However, some web users were quick to notice that AY, who initially proposed that Mercy be disqualified alongside Tacha after their fierce fight, is now wishing her well.
Tacha had been expunged from the Big Brother house for violence after she yanked Mercy’s hair on two occasions and also shoved her. Mercy on the other hand was given two strikes.
It is on the back of this that Mercy’s supporters are now criticising the comedian for being a “hater” and “fake”.
