The Executive Secretary, Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Board, Alhaji Abdul Hakeem Kalejaiye has expressed satisfaction of the 2019 Hajj so far, saying the 2019 pilgrimage surpasses last Year’s operation.
Report from the Press Officer, Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, (OGSMPWB), Rasak Sekoni, Kalejaiye, stated this during the Special Prayer and Sermon delivered at Arafah, marking the Arafah Day and peak of the Hajj exercise, on-going in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He mentioned that state pilgrims should continue to cooperate with Officials of the Board to make the remaining part of their Hajj pilgrimage a sweet experience.
“Now that pilgrims have been confirmed with Hajj status, they should try and maintain the status quo by praying five times daily and uphold the tenets of Islam.”
“Planning will start in earnest for 2020 Hajj operation and intending pilgrims by then won’t regret it. Even now, we are already getting positive remark about Ogun State pilgrimage from neighbouring states”.he stated.
The best day in the year is the day of Arafah urging Pilgrims to be of utmost discipline and spirituality as they are now in their Ihram clothe which symbolises a state of purity and worship.
The Chief Imam and Head of operations of the board, Alhaji Buhari Inakoju, while delivering the Arafah Sermon stated in clear terms that the reward for a successful Hajj is paradise, therefore urging pilgrims to make the best use of the day of Arafah and the entire Hajj period for their own advantage.
Similarly, Inakoju urged pilgrims to continually ask Allah for forgiveness and the blessings of the entire Hajj exercise.
“The most glorious day in the year is the day of Arafah and acceptance of prayer is usually at its peak during this period especially for those at Arafah” he said.
Contributing,the Chairman of the board, Alhaji Miftau Majekodunmi expressed gratitude to Allah for the glorious day.
Pilgrims at the event, Alhaji Taoreed Seriki and Alhaji Quadri Adesina in their separate remarks were full of thanks and gratitude to Allah.
“So far we are glad and satisfied with the turn out of things today. We are equally of the believe that our prayers have been answered”, they said.
