The Kano State Government on Thursday quarantined 2000 almajiri children to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19).
This was made known by the Kano Commission for Health, Aminu Tsanyawa.
He disclosed this during the opening of the training for rapid response team in charge of managing the children at quarantine centres.
According to Tsanyawa, the trainees were selected from medical doctors, nurses, community health workers and laboratory scientists to test and screen the almajiri kids at their camps in Kiru, Gabasawa and Karaye local government areas of the state.
