Buhari: Daura Gets COVID-19 Isolation Centre

President Muhammad Buhari’s home town, Daura, has been favoured with the installation of Coronavirus (COVID-19) Isolation and Treatment Centre.

Naija News understands that the Katsina State government was handed a fully-equipped Isolation Centre by the National Lottery Trust Fund for the treatment of the global pandemic victims in the state.

Speaking at the handing over of the facility which is located at the General Hospital, Daura, the Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, George Akume, said that the Federal Government is disturbed with the spread of the COVID-19 across the states since it emerged in the country.

According to him, the global pandemic is negatively affecting the country’s economy and hence the need for private sectors to support the government in its capacities so as to curb the epidemic.

On his part, the governor of Kastina State, Aminu Masari, commended NLTF for the newly installed facility in the state, particularly in Daura, noting that the state now has an additional medical facility to fight the pandemic.

Masari, however, prayed God that the state will be freed of the virus and hence no one would be admitted into the Isolation centre.

Meanwhile, the Executive Secretary of the company, Bello Maigari, applauds the Katsina state government for its support from the inception to the completion of the project.

He said, “the facility would be useful in the fight against the pandemic and improve the healthcare system in the Daura community and Katsina State as a whole.”

In another news, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has urged the federal government to look beyond the current palliative measures in place for Nigerians during the COVID-19 lockdown.
