The Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has distributed relief materials to his followers across the nation to cushion the effect of the coronavirus lockdown by Nigerian government.
According to Punch, the items included 40,000 bags of rice, bags of onions, cartons of tomatoes and other food condiments and protective personal equipment.
Speaking while distributing the materials, Nnamdi Kanu, who spoke through his younger brother, Emma Kanu, said he was touched by the effect of the lockdown due to the global pandemic, COVID-19, adding “I am interested in saving lives”.
Kanu added: “My concern is to make sure that humanity is preserved, alive and safe. I am not segregating. I am providing all I can to serve humanity.”
