An outrageous video has emerged online shopping some Nigerian policemen destroying goods of shop owners who disobeyed the lockdown by the Lagos State Government.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had instructed all business owners to lock up their shops and stay at home for next seven day in order to curtail the spread of coronavirus in the state.
Apparently, some shop owners defied the government’s order and some police men under the Lagos State Task Force took it upon themselves to destroy the people’s properties in the guise of enforcing an illegal lockdown that was not approved by the governor.
The video of the incident which is currently circulating on social media have caused a lot of outrage among Nigerians.
There is no law in Lagos State or in Nigeria that supports the actions of these officers. I totally condemn this callousness. We should not tolerate such irresponsible action by a law enforcement agency. It is distasteful to Destroy the properties of citizens who are struggling.

Of course trust the Nigerian police officers to further plunge Nigerians into further misery. @PoliceNG is this what you tell your officers to do while ensuring that there is compliance to the sit-at-home order?

Lol.
You see why I can never love or respect Nigerian Police officers.
Enforce a lockdown doesn’t mean become vandals and criminals, but it is in their genes, so they can’t help it. https://t.co/9hCwlxXSXP

Nigerian police are actual bastards. Life continues after the pandemic, if you destroy their businesses now, how will they eat after? It’s not like the government gave people money for upkeep as compensation for staying at home. https://t.co/Cyn43Gz2Pw
