A female National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member identified as Amaka Asikaogu has reportedly been found dead mysteriously at the New England Hotel in Abuja, just a few days to the end of her service.
The Sun reports that Amaka had checked into the hotel on Saturday evening, along with a male friend who left shortly after they were served food and drinks they ordered.
It was gathered that the hotel staff who saw the man leaving the hotel asked about the lady (Amaka) that accompanied him, and he assured them that she is fine and was alone in the room.
Amaka also affirmed that she was fine when called by the hotel workers, who were trying to a ascertain her status.
She was said to have been alone in the room till the following day (Sunday), when it was time for her to check out.
The hotel management were worried that Amaka hadn’t been seen, so forced their way into her room, only to find her lifeless body.
A family friend who confirmed the incident, told The Sun that the parents of the deceased sent her money after she complained that the person she was staying with asked her to leave the house.
The family friend said: “It was like she was waiting for the end of the weekend before she get the accommodation before the unfortunate incident happened.”
Meanwhile, KanyiDaily had also reported that a serving female NYSC member in Enugu, reportedly committed suicide by taking two bottles of sniper.
