Nicolas Pepe
Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, believes Nicolas Pepe’s missed chance in the first half, was key during their 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United on Monday night.
The Gunners slumped to a shock defeat at Bramall Lane, with Lys Mousset scoring a 30th-minute winner.
However, Pepe should have put Arsenal in front with the goal at his mercy, after a sweeping move and Emery admitted it was a turning point in the game.
“The chance for us, for Pepe, was the key.
“Because if they score the first goal, defensively they are a very strong team.
“Pepe is improving but the next step for him is to score.
“Usually, he is going to score chances like that – but tonight, he didn’t take his chance,” Emery told Sky Sports.
