Buhari convenes emergency FEC meeting

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday convened an extraordinary meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at the Presidential Villa, AbujaNational Daily learned that the emergency meeting commenced in the early hours of Monday and was still in session at the time of this report.

Presidency source was gathered to have disclosed that the meeting was scheduled for Saturday but rescheduled for Monday. President Muhammadu Buhari presided over the meeting.

The presidency had further explained that the meeting is to enable the cabinet ministers finalize the 2020 proposed budget of the executive arm of government, which President Buhari is expected to present to a joint session of the National Assembly on Tuesday.

The FEC meeting traditionally holds on Wednesday.
