The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) will block 2.224million improperly registered SIM cards from telecom networks in the country on Wednesday, September 25, 2019.
This is coming following order from the Federal Government as part of efforts to crack down illegal SIM cards used by criminals.
In line with the new directive by Minister of Communications, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, Nigerians whose sim cards are not registered may soon be restricted or barred from using the mobile phone numbers. Hence, it is important to know the status of your phone number.
If you want to confirm whether or not your phone number is properly registered, here are the numbers to dial:
- MTN – dial *789*1#
- Airtel – dial *746#
- 9mobile – dial 746 or 200
- Glo – text REG to 746 or 3456
Confirm your sim card registration status now before its being blocked by NCC.
