This year, we’ve had some pretty memorable music videos. From Teni’s hilarious eba-eating competition in “Sugar Mummy” to Santi’s horror movie for “Raw Dinner”, our artists are getting more and more creative when it comes to music videos.
It seems our neighbours in Ghana are also on a creative spree, as Fuse ODG delivers a super entertaining music video for his star-studded jam, “Cool Down”, which features Olamide, Joey B and Kawmz & Flava.
An informal rap cypher, “Cool Down” houses a bunch of clever lyrics from some of West Africa’s finest acts. Beginning the cypher himself, Fuse ODG shares some witty, well-though-out bars as he moves to a girl on his verse, before telling other men to cool down on the song’s chorus.
Olamide takes the third verse, sandwiched between four phenomenal performances from his Ghanaian counterparts. On his verse, Olamide is wholly preoccupied with how his girlfriend looks, illustrated in his part of the music video, as he shows us all the outfits she tries on.
The video for “Cool Down” compiles a bunch of selfies and vertical videos captured by the five artists and their friends. The video launches Fuse ODG’s #SelfieCypherChallenge, which is apparently the first of its kind. Click here to find out how you can be a part of this challenge.
