During his peak, D’Banj was one of Nigeria‘s most beloved musicians, but following his heartbreaking split from Don Jazzy, he fell off pretty quickly. Well, in recent years, he’s been on a clear mission to revive his career.
With some solid collaborations, such as “Baba Nla”, D’Banj is doing a good job of staying relevant, and now he’s set to make his Nollywood debut in a Jadesola Osiberu production, Sugar Rush, and we’re pretty hyped.
Sharing the introduction to her latest flick over Instagram, Jadesola Osiberu announced that she’s lined up Adesua Etomi, Bisola Aiyeola, Omoni Oboli, D’Banj and more to star in her upcoming movie, Sugar Rush, set to hit the big screens this Christmas.
Currently working on another film, Nigerian Trade, Jadesola Osiberu previously produced the 2017 rom-com, Isoken, as well as the TV shows, Rumour Has It and Gidi Up. With those hits, Osiberu’s Christmas blockbuster looks to be a worthy rival to whatever EbonyLife rolls out.
D’Banj has always been hilarious, so it is pretty shocking that his witty character hasn’t already been tapped for a Nollywood comedy. We’re really excited to learn more about his character in the film, and will definitely be keeping a lookout for more information about Sugar Rush.
