A series of tweet war have been going on between Ovation publisher, Dele Momodu and ex-president Jonathan’s media aide, Reno Omokri, since Momodu urged the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to concede defeat to incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari after Saturday’s presidential election across the country.
Momodu told Atiku to pick up his phone and congratulate President Buhari as this would help prevent bloodshed.
According to Reno, Momodu has Atiku’s phone number, email address and WhatsApp contact, therefore he could have adviced Atiku privately.
However, the Ovation publisher replied Reno, tweeting that he did not work for Atiku, he only volunteered like he did for Buhari in 2015. He said he never interacted with Atiku’s campaign office.
Reno has further replied Dele Momodu’s tweets.
Reno tweeted,
“If you felt tension brewing up, wouldn’t it make sense for you to first reach @Atiku privately to offer your advise. Perhaps there might be justification if you tried using private means and were rebuffed. Going public is MORE LIKELY to increase tension
“When you disagreed with @Abati1990 and later @iam_Davido, I and others did not rush to the public to tweet at you. I went to Abati privately (ask him). Others went to you and Davido privately. The least you could have done is to reach @Atiku privately”
