The Department of State Services (DSS) has finally agreed to comply with Court order granting the leader Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Sheik Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, bail on health ground.
KanyiDaily had that Kaduna State High Court granted the Cleric and his wife, Zeenatu El-Zakzaky, bail application to enable them visit Mandeta Hospital in New Delhi, India for medical treatment on their eyes.
Dr. Peter Afunanya, DSS Public Relations Officer, said this in a statement issued Monday night, that the Shiites leader will be released immediately.
However, the DSS was silent on the fate of Zeenatu.
“This is to inform the public that the Department of State Services (DSS) has received the order granting Ibrahim EL-ZAKZAKY leave to travel to India for medical treatment,” the statement reads.
“Consequently, the Service is liaising with relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance.
“Conformity with the order is in line with the Service’s avowed commitment to the Rule of Law inherent in a democracy.”
