Kidnappers have reportedly killed one Kaduna Living Faith Church Pastor, Jeremiah Omilewa, while his wife was abducted on Sunday along the dreaded Kaduna-Abuja road.

According to The Sun, the late pastor was returning from Abuja with his wife and his son on Sunday evening when the kidnappers opened fire on their vehicle, killing the pastor on the spot and took the wife to the bush. However, the son was said to have escaped.

The police spokesman in the state, DSP Yakubu Sabo, is yet to confirm this development as he did not answer several calls put across his mobile line as of the time of filing this report.

However, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Kaduna State Chapter, Joseph Hayab, condemned the rising cases of kidnapping of pastors and other Christian leaders in the state.

Hayab said the killing of the pastor and the abduction of his wife was sad and devastating.

Decrying the spates of abduction in Kaduna and environs, Hayab said last Thursday the parish priest of Kasuwan Magani, Kajuru Local Government Area, was attacked by gunmen at his resident and a security guard was killed.

According to him, the parish priest narrowly escaped being killed or being abducted.
