Looks like Zackary Momoh is having his breakout moment. Since his acclaimed performance in the Emmy-winning series, Seven Seconds, he’s landed roles in The Shining sequel, Doctor Sleep, as well as the Harriet Tubman biopic, Harriet.
Well, he’s adding another role to his growing list of acting credits. Momoh has been cast as a series regular in an upcoming HBO Victorian-era drama, The Nevers, from Joss Whedon (The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron).
Co-written by Jane Espenson and Doug Petrie (Buffy The Vampire Slayer), The Nevers is an epic sci-fi drama about a gang of Victorian women who find themselves with unusual abilities, relentless enemies and a mission that might change the world.
Momoh will play Doctor Horatio Cousens, described as “one of the few successful West Indian physicians in London.” Married with a young son, Horatio’s fortunes took a dark turn when he met Amalia and discovered his own ability.
He stars alongside Laura Donnelly (Outlander), Olivia Williams (The Sixth Sense), James Norton (Black Mirror) and more. Joss Whedon will serve as an executive producer, showrunner, writer and director on the series.
No release date has been set for The Nevers.
