Imo State governor, Emeka Ihedioha, has appointed commissioners to form part of his government in the state.
The Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Collins Chiji read the names when he presided over the assembly’s sitting on Tuesday.
Top of the list were former Minister of State for Education and Foreign Affairs, Prof (Mrs) Viola Onwuliri, a former speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly and Gov. Ihedioha’s running mate for the 2015 gubernatorial election, Hon. Chuma Nnaji.
Former Chief of Staff to a former governor of the state, Achike Udenwa, and one time commissioner of finance, Dr. Vincent Udokwu also made the list.
Others names in the 17 man list are Reginald Ihebuzor, Barr Emeka Felix Ebiliekwe, Engr. Benjamin Nnamdi Ekwueme, Prof Uchenna Joseph Uwaleke, Nicholas Anaya Amaefule, Barr Chijioke Christopher Nzekwe, Ekezie Johnbosco Okeahialam, Meekam Kwuemaihum Mgbenwelu, Umez-Eronini Okechukwu Unaeze, Ibekwe Nkeiruka Imma(Mrs).
The rest include Sir Bon Okechukwu Unachukwu, Engr Sly Enwerem, Chief Emmanuel Ohakpugwu Nwaogu, Hon Tony Eze Okere.
Reacting to the development, the Special Assistant to the governor on New Media, Aic Akwarandu said the commissioner nominees possess the experience and know-how to perform well.
Akwarandu said: “Take your time to investigate about those who made Imo Commissioners list. You will find out that the list is laced with experience and capacity.
“The list is a combination of politicians and technocrats which is ideal in every political system.”
