Whether you’ve been paying attention or not, it’s clear that Davido‘s 15 minutes of global fame isn’t running out anytime soon, and he seems to just keep winning.
Right now, his 2017 monster hit, “Fall” is one of the most played songs on American radio, and his many collaborations with international superstars like Clean Bandit, Quavo and more are certainly putting him on the map.
Given all of this, it makes perfect sense for him to be representing Nigeria at one of the most important black events in America, the ESSENCE Festival. If you watched 2017’s acclaimed comedy, Girls Trip, then you’ll have an idea just how big and amazing the festival is.
The 2019 ESSENCE Festival’s three-night concert series will feature a ton of talented black artists, such as Missy Elliott, Mary J. Blige, NAS, Jermaine Dupri, Pharrell Williams, Teyana Taylor, Timbaland, VanJess, Jacquees, Mase, Normani and many others.
Joining Davido from other African countries will be Nasty C, Sauti Sol, Vanessa MDee and others. The festival will be holding on the 4th of July weekend, and we’re immensely proud of Davido. We know he’ll kill his set and are looking forward to celebrating more wins for him!
