It’s been years since he broke out, and we still can’t get enough of the talented David Oyelowo. Any news about his upcoming projects are always welcome, and Sony recently disclosed that he will be joining the cast of the upcoming Peter Rabbit 2 — the live-action hybrid sequel to the 2018 hit.
Oyelowo joins the all-star returning cast that already includes Rose Byrne, Domhnall Gleeson and James Corden, who voices the mischievous Peter Rabbit. David Oyelowo’s character has not yet been revealed, but it will be a live-action role.

Details about the upcoming sequel are still quite scarce, but Variety has learnt that the sequel will follow Peter Rabbit as he continues to stir up trouble with his fellow furry friends. Will Gluck will also be returning as writer-director for the sequel.
Oyelowo most recently had a leading role in the BBC and PBS Masterpiece six-part adaptation of Les Miserables. which will premiere on PBS on April 14. He is also producing and starring opposite Angelina Jolie in the fantasy adventure, Come Away.
Peter Rabbit 2 is undeniably another big-ticket project for David Oyelowo. The first Peter Rabbit film was a hit globally, taking in over $350 million worldwide, including $115 million domestically, making it highest-grossing film outside of the James Bond franchise in the U.K.
Peter Rabbit 2 is slated to be released on Feb. 7, 2020.
