Back in February, Riton and Kah-Lo set sail for their Australia and New Zealand tour. In between shows, the Nigerian singer found herself still working, lending her vocals to different producers, like the 17-year old Australian beatsmith, Perto, on his new track, “Bad Maybe Good”.
“Bad Maybe Good” opens with an enchanting display of Perto’s production prowess before Kah-Lo’s sensual vocals come in. On the track, the self-proclaimed “monotone rap princess” switches up her flow a little, singing through most of the track and rapping only over the short hook.
Atop Perto’s electronic beat, Kah-Lo warns her lover that he doesn’t know her quite as well as he thinks he does. Acknowledging that their relationship is toxic, Kah-Lo decides to still go along with it, in the hopes that something good will eventually come out of her decision.
The 17-year-old Australian producer does a phenomenal job with the song, and Kah-Lo certainly puts his eclectic production work to good use. While the Grammy nominee is definitely at her best when she teams up with Riton, she still manages to shine when she branches out.
