Nsukka Youths General Assembly (NYGN) have restated their resolve to supporting the administration of their son and brother, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, in delivering good governance and dividends of democracy to the citizens and good people of the state.
The Assembly which is an umbrella body of all the youths in Nsukka Cultural Zone both at home and the diaspora, made the position known in an address read by the National Chairman, Rt. Comrade Chika Obetta, during a courtesy visit on the governor at the Lion Building Government House, Enugu.
They commended the Governor for his peaceful leadership style which has continued to enthrone development and attracted investment to the state adding “your style of leadership no doubt has helped in addressing the recent purported expulsion of Fulani headers out of the state.
“You have equally used this diplomacy to manage and resolve issues capable of coursing communal crisis in the state. The recent restoration of peace in the decades of crises in Oruku/Umuode communities of the state is another hallmark of your peaceful leadership disposition.
“The past four years has been awesome under your able leadership and we will help to make this second phase more successful through effective advocacy and sensitization of the policies and programmes of your government.
“In a bid to ensure that Ndi-Enugu are provided with quality and people oriented leadership, you have inaugurated several committees to review the programmes and policies of your first term in office and to come up with a template of international best practices/standard that will help consolidate good governance in this second term. We commend you for this feat.”
The youth group urged the governor not to be distracted by those peddling and propagating falsehood against his person, office and government on the RUGA settlement saga which has however been suspended by the Federal Government.
Responding to the address, the Governor, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, promised to continue to deliver on his four-point agenda via equity, justice and fairness to all the zones in the state. He urged the youths to continue to promote unity, love and peaceful coexistence in the state.
