Oba of Lagos Rilwan Akiolu has said that he would always speak his mind and truth to power because he fears nobody but God.

Akiolu spoke on Thursday when Lagos state Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu met with traditional rulers in Lagos at the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja.

Akiolu said he is not anybody’s rubber stamp, noting former Lagos state governor Asiwaju Bola Tinubu does not reject his advice and requests but always listens to him.

He however told Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat not to accede to his request if he makes unworthy requests from them.

The Oba further advised Sanwo-Olu and his deputy to always listen to advice and information from the people but should digest such advice/information before responding.

Sanwo-Olu thanked the traditional rulers for the visit, promising to foster a good working relationship with the traditional institutions for Lagos to be safe and be destination of choice for investment.

Kings from the five divisions of Lagos were present including the Secretary to the State Government, Folashade Jaji and the Chief of Staff, Tayo Ayinde.
