Over the past few years, British-Nigerian actress, Susan Wokoma has been steadily building up a solid portfolio, and this year, she really means business. After landing a main role in the upcoming comedy, Super Simple Love Story, she’s now joined the cast of the star-studded Elona Holmes.
Elona Holmes is a detective mystery film, based on the fictional series penned by Nancy Springer. The film follows Enola Holmes (Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown), the younger sister of Sherlock Holmes (Superman Returns’ Henry Cavill), who appears to be a deft detective in her own right.
Fans of Susan Wokoma have probably only seen her work through the lens of comedies — from Crazyhead to the BAFTA-winning Chewing Gum — so we are pretty excited to see her venture into new waters, as she takes on a role in this exciting period drama.
Other cast members include Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve), Sam Claflin (Me Before You) and Helena Bonham Carter (Fight Club), who will play Mrs. Holmes, mother of Sherlock and Elona. We aren’t quite sure which character Wokoma will be playing, but we’re confident she will kill it.
A lovely cat out of a rather lovely bag!#EnolaHolmes https://t.co/956046WKAd
