When it comes to international collaborations, Mr Eazi is easily our favourite afropop artist for the job. The banku star has delivered on a long list of songs by a wide variety of artists, so, unfortunately, it’s a given that some would fly under the radar.
American DJ, Vice‘s summer ’18 single, “Don’t Go”, which also features Becky G, is the perfect example of an excellent Mr Eazi performance that didn’t garner the attention it deserved at the time. Well, we’re here to attempt to fix that.
Produced by Vice, “Don’t Go” is a vibrant pop track that is lead by the Latin-American songstress. Opening the song, Becky G professes her crippling love for a certain man, vulnerably announcing that losing him is making her lose herself.
Mr Eazi hops on the track for the second verse, his calm delivery juxtaposing the vibrant dance beat that fills the song’s chorus. He reminisces about the time he’s shared with his lover, before joining Becky G on the chorus to beg her not to leave him.
