Having been released from EFCC custody only a couple of weeks ago, Naira Marley is not letting the experience slow him down. As well as promising to help those who are illegally detained, the rapper also channels his experience into his music, sharing the brand new track, “Soapy”.
Produced by frequent collaborator, Rexxie, “Soapy” finds Naira Markey, who raps predominantly in Yoruba over the bubbly beat, tackling a range of topics, from how so many people want to do him dirty, to how he is consistently trying to make his mother proud.
Over the chorus, Naira Marley touches on what life on the inside was like, introducing a new dance move as he vents. With “Soapy” serving as a metaphor for the shared struggles prisoners in Nigeria face, we are certainly anticipating a video to illustrate the topics he tackles.
