A few months ago, Johnny Drille tweeted at Jon Bellion, asking him to come perform in Nigeria. The acclaimed star eventually responded, saying he’d only do it if the Mavin singer opened a show for him. Well, the pair finally met, and a collab is looking pretty likely.
Jon Bellion is currently on a worldwide tour, and just yesterday, Johnny Drille had the pleasure of a one-on-one with his idol, meeting him backstage following a show. Announcing their meeting on Instagram, Johnny Drille excitedly said:
“I met the man that’s been the biggest inspiration to my music, can you believe that! There’s so much I have to say about meeting Jon but I’ll save it for later. You’re awesome. “
Johnny Drille is easily one of the most exciting singers in the Nigerian music scene, and his songs clearly draw influence from the likes of Jon Bellion and Owl City. Given that, we’re sure that a collaboration between them will be completely amazing.
Until then, listen to Johnny Drille’s cover of Jon Bellion’s “All Time Low”:
