Looks like all die-hard The Lion King fans can relax now. Despite initial reports that, like most of the movie’s original songs, the iconic Scar anthem, “Be Prepared”, was getting cut from the live-action remake, it turns out that won’t be the case after all.
Disney just released the (mostly) full soundtrack list for the upcoming iteration, and it includes ‘Be Prepared’ — with a “2019 version” caveat. That caveat doesn’t scare us, as we are positive Chiwetel Ejiofor will do a fantastic job either way.

The track list also shows that we’re not only getting all the songs from the original film, but we’re also getting four new songs — Elton John’s newest contribution, titled “Never Too Late,” as well as two songs by Libo M. (“He Lives In You” and “Mbube”).
One of the four new tracks is “TBA” in the tracklist, and everyone’s already speculating that it’s the song Beyoncé wrote for the film — possibly in a bid to finally nab that ‘Best Original Song’ Oscar that has eluded the Grammy-winning star.
Jon Favreau, the film’s director, said in an interview with Fandango:
“We have all the original songs, but there’s a song that [Beyoncé] performed and wrote in the spirit of the production along with working with Lebo M., who’s part of it with Hans Zimmer.
They were all collaborating with her and helping to bring this new piece of music into a film where there’s already a very established musical personality to the piece.”
The Lion King remake is set to hit theatres on July 19.
