On Friday, Justice Rahmon Oshodi granted bail to the embattled former Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele, in the sum of N50 million.
Emefiele faces charges encompassing 26 counts, relating to alleged abuse of office and irregular allocation of $4.5 billion and N2.8 billion, respectively. As part of the bail conditions, Emefiele is required to provide two sureties in like sum.
The embattled ex-CBN Governor has been facing several charges filed against him by the federal government since he left office. In each case, he would claim he was innocent. However, the court has yet to determine and decide any of the cases brought against him.
