
Asue Ighodalo has emerged winner of the primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Edo State.
563 delegates voted during the keenly contested primary in Benin City.
The votes garnered by other aspirants have all been announced with none of them coming close to the votes of Ighodalo which were still being counted by officials.

Felix Akhabue – 0
Philip Shuabu – 1
Amb. Martins – 0
Barr. Esene – 0
Asue Ighodalo 577 (winner)
Omosede – Withdrew
Ogbeide Ihama – Withdrew
Void votes – 6
It was learned that Governor Godwin Obaseki, the incumbent Governor of Edo State, is heavily backing Ighodalo to succeed him.
