The House of Representatives has kicked against 60 percent school fees increment announced by the Nigerian Law School.
It asked the law school to suspend the move.
This resolution was reached on Wednesday following a motion moved by Obinna Ginger.
Mr Ginger moved the motion on behalf of Kingsley Chinda, who was not on the floor to take his motion.
In the motion, Ginger explained that the Council of Legal Education announced the increment for the 2024 session.
According to the lawmaker, the authority increased the fee from N296,000 to ₦476,000 for the 2023/2024 Bar Part II academic session.
He said the increment could lead to a “high decrease in the number of Nigerian law school students”.
The House, therefore, directed the Committee on Tertiary Education and Services to explore solutions to the issue and report within two weeks.
