A Kogi State man, Dauda Abdulfatai, aka Abdulfattah El-Okene who embarked on an ironing quest or 200 hours has stopped at 142 hours after surpassing the previous record holder.
He aimed to surpass Gareth Sander, the current Guinness World Record holder who ironed for 100 hours.
After obtaining approval via mail from the Guinness World Records, Dauda started the marathon last Wednesday, Jan. 10, at a location Off Ajaokuta Road, Ganaja Village, Lokoja, Kogi State.
Though Dauda surpassed Sander’s record, he did not meet his 200-hour target.
He stopped unexpectedly due to medical concerns and feedback from his support team.
Before ending the ironing marathon, Dauda had ironed an impressive 2,249 garments in 142 hours.
