Suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, on Tuesday faced the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for questioning on the allegation of N585m disbursement scandal.
She was accompanied to the EFCC office by her lawyer and aides, where she was interrogated by the EFCC investigators.

The Accountant General of the Federation, Oluwatoyin Madein, had revealed that although the Humanitarian Affairs Ministry had requested from the office of the AGF to make certain payments, noting that the ministry did not effect the payment.
This compounded the problem of the minister who was suspended on Monday by President Bola Tinubu.
President Tinubu, accordingly, mandated the EFCC “to conduct a thorough investigation into all aspects of the financial transactions” involving the ministry and “one or more agencies thereunder”.
