Former President Muhammadu Buhari has said leading Nigeria is one of the hardest challenges in life, saying leadership entails the cooperation and support of all citizens.
This was contained in a Sallah message signed by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, on Tuesday
The former president, however, urged Nigerians to give their support to the new administration of President Bola Tinubu
In the statement titled, ‘Ex-President Buhari Salutes Muslims on Eid Ul Adha and Wishes Muslims Successful Hajj’, the former president wished Nigerian Muslims a happy Eid and, to those on pilgrimage, Hajj Mabrur, and a safe return home.
He added that “leadership is a challenging task that demands the sacrifices and support of the citizens.”
The Katsina-born former head of state completed his two-term tenure of eight years and handed over power to Tinubu on May 29, 2023.
Buhari was also Nigeria’s military leader between December 1983 and August 1985.
