The outgoing Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday conferred on President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima the national honours of Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic, GCFR, and Grand Commander of Order of the Niger, GCON, respectively.
Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress ( APC), was declared winner at the February 2023 presidential election by the independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the middle of the night.
National Daily had report that, other political parties and its presidential candidates like, Peter Obi of the Labour Party ( LP), Atiku of the People Democratic party (PDP) and many others have storm the tribunal to challenge the victory of the president-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Nigerians home and abroad who drummed support for their different political parties have alleged that the last election will go down as the worst election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the history of the country.
According to multiple reports saying that Peter Obi, won the presidential election and are calling on the Tribunal to pass a fair judgement.
However, May 29, 2023, has been set aside for the swearing-in of the new president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
