Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has halted the plot to dethrone the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi ll, over political differences in the post 2019 general elections era. The Kano Governor suspended action after the intervention of Alhaji Aliko Dangote and Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State.
Danjote and Fayemi were said to have hosted the governor and the Emir to a reconciliatory meeting in Abuja on Friday.
National Daily learned that the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ganduje, Abba Anwar, in a statement explained that the reconciliatory meeting was initiated by the Kano-born business executive, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, and the Chairman of Nigeria’s Governors’ Forum, Kayode Fayemi.
The CPS indicated that after the meeting, the governor and the emir exchanged pleasantries with each other in Abuja.
Emir Sanusi and Governor Ganduje were said to have met and congratulated each other on the successful completion of the Ramadan Fast. Emir Sanusi also used the opportunity to congratulate Governor Ganduje on his re-election for second term in office; wishing the governor a successful second tenure.
